SMART SOLUTIONS TO FLOODING 🌊

Riza A. Oiga, Operations Department Head – Wastewater Facilities at Manila Water Company, recently presented Project i-Float, her flagship initiative under the Women Champions in the Water Sector Program of #AngatBuhay, at the prestigious 41st International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research World Congress and SIWW Spotlight 2025 held in Singapore.

Project i-Float is a scalable and sustainable solution to urban flood management—integrating engineering innovation with environmental stewardship. It has already made strides in boosting flood resilience across Metro Manila and improving flow efficiency at the Marikina North Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).

This innovation has also been recognized internally, becoming a Finalist for the 2025 Rajah for Likha Awards of Manila Water for its excellence in innovation and social relevance.

At Angat Buhay, we believe in supporting local leaders like Riza, not just by equipping them with tools and knowledge, but by creating platforms where their ideas can shine, both here at home and now on the global stage.
