ABVN SPOTLIGHT: ANGAT TAYTAY 🩷🩺
Bayanihan means bringing essential services closer to the communities that need them.
Through “Iwas Dialysis, Ligtas Kidneys: Get CheCKD Habang Maaga Pa!”, Angat Taytay reached almost 8,500 residents in Taytay, Rizal, in just three months, providing free kidney health screening and education.
Screenings were held in barangays, schools, police stations, the fish port, Taytay Municipal Hall, SM Taytay, sitios, and subdivisions, including Sta. Ana, San Isidro, Muzon, and Dolores.
As chronic kidney disease can develop without noticeable symptoms, early screening and awareness are vital. The initiative helped make preventive healthcare more accessible through the collaboration of Angat Taytay, an Angat Bayanihan Volunteer Network (ABVN) organization, Boehringer Ingelheim Philippines, and the Municipality of Taytay, Rizal.
The Angat Bayanihan Volunteer Network (ABVN) is Angat Buhay’s nationwide network of volunteer organizations advancing locally led development and collective action. Rooted in their communities, ABVN organizations work with local stakeholders and partners to respond to community priorities, expand access to essential services and opportunities, and strengthen local capacities for sustainable development. 🩷
