Angat Buhay—through the Bayan Ko, Titser Ko (BKTK) program and in partnership with Legazpi Eye Center and Divine Grace Medical Center—provided children last November 2025 with free eye check-ups while those with vision difficulties were given free prescription eyeglasses.
The organization previously conducted early visual screening for students in its literacy program last year.
“By identifying vision concerns early and connecting children to the care they need, we help ensure that every learner, especially the most vulnerable, has the opportunity to read better, learn better, and reach their full potential,” the organization said in its post.
Aside from free eye check-ups and free eyeglasses for the children, Angat Buhay also supported their health and nourishment through BKTK’s Nutrition component, which addresses students’ nutritional needs and strengthens the literacy interventions already in place.
