AUDITORY SCREENING FOR OUR LEARNERS 👂📚

Speech delays, reading difficulties, and challenges in keeping up with lessons are some of the issues that can arise when hearing concerns go undetected. Early auditory screening is important for young learners because it helps detect hearing difficulties as soon as possible, allowing children to receive the support they need during their most critical years of language, social, and cognitive development.

To help address this, Angat Buhay partnered with the Rotary Club of Naga, Bicol Medical Center, and Department of Education – Naga City Division to conduct auditory screenings for elementary learners enrolled in our literacy program, Bayan Ko, Titser Ko (BKTK), in Naga City. Through this initiative, 329 learners underwent hearing screening to help identify those who may need further assessment.

Learners who were found to need additional testing or evaluation are referred to Bicol Medical Center, with Angat Buhay covering the costs of the necessary follow-up interventions.

As much as we want every learner in BKTK to improve in reading and writing, we also make sure that their health needs are addressed, so they can truly thrive in school.
