Post Title

Angat Pinas, Inc. (commonly known as Angat Buhay) is a Filipino non-profit organization that aims to empower Filipinos to become communities of active citizens by mobilizing the largest volunteer network in implementing Bayanihan programs.

Following the people’s campaign of former Vice President Leni Robredo in 2022, Angat Buhay traces its roots as a government program under the Office of the Vice President of the Philippines that had several successful initiatives and projects.

Building on these, Angat Buhay continues to implement community-centered and sustainable development initiatives focused on education, health and nutrition, disaster relief and rehabilitation, and community engagement and empowerment.

Under the leadership of Chairperson Atty. Leni Robredo and Executive Director Raffy Magno, Angat Buhay continues to inspire hope and bayanihan with partners, volunteers, and supporters to empower marginalized Filipino communities.

A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR ILOILO'S WASTE WORKERS

For decades, the Calajunan Sanitary Landfill in Iloilo City has been a source of livelihood for hundreds of families who collect recyclable materials to support their daily needs.

But with the landfill set to close by 2027, more than 200 waste workers will need new ways to sustain their livelihoods.

Through the EU-PH Green Economy Partnership, Project SALOG will support the Uswag Calajunan Livelihood Association (UCLA) by helping waste workers turn the materials they collect into better livelihood opportunities such as plastics recycling, composting, and upcycling used tarpaulins into products that can be sold.

The project will also provide enterprise training, connect the community with buyers and partners, help members access IDs, insurance, and social protection, and open new skills and livelihood pathways beyond waste work.
